How will you make an impact?

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing the activities of the production team to ensure manufacturing equipment reliability, production continuity, and operational excellence. This role oversees maintenance activities, equipment performance, technical resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring quality, safety, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

What will you do?

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

Recruitment and Retention

  • Recruit, interview, and hire Process Engineers, Industrial Technicians, WAVE Technicians, and Machine Support Technicians.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to establish hiring criteria and candidate qualifications.

  • Coach team members on effective interviewing and selection processes.

  • Monitor turnover trends and implement strategies to improve retention and engagement.

Employee and Team Development

  • Identify individual and team development opportunities.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain training programs and curricula.

  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

  • Create and maintain succession plans for critical departmental roles.

Performance Management

  • Establish measurable goals and objectives to evaluate team and individual performance.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, counseling, and performance feedback.

  • Conduct timely and professional performance evaluations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in key operational metrics and business objectives.

  • Coordinate team activities and maintain focus during periods of high demand or operational challenges.

  • Ensure recognition and rewards are administered fairly and consistently.

Communication

  • Foster open communication and information sharing within the department.

  • Communicate effectively through verbal and written channels.

  • Encourage employee involvement and feedback.

  • Adapt communication style to meet the needs of diverse audiences.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Oversee the equipment maintenance program, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, feeder maintenance, spare parts management, and support equipment maintenance.

  • Plan and prioritize technical resources to support production requirements.

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze departmental reports, records, and performance metrics.

  • Coordinate and oversee equipment installations, line moves, and production line builds.

  • Manage relationships with equipment vendors regarding repairs, upgrades, and technical support.

  • Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient, effective, and standardized.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and industry best practices.

  • Promote a strong customer-focused culture by proactively addressing operational challenges.

  • Utilize available engineering resources to optimize equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators and measurement systems.

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, safety, security, and quality requirements.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing maintenance, machine support, or technical teams preferred.

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing and high-volume production environments preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole manufacturing equipment.

  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.

  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement techniques.

  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), Demand Flow Technology, and Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) experience.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.

  • Advanced knowledge of SMT process equipment and automation technologies.
