PACS Administrator / Site Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PACS Administrator / Site Coordinator to support and administer radiology imaging and information systems, including PACS, RIS, and associated imaging applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Intelerad, DivRAD, Visage, DICOM, HL7, and radiology workflows, along with the ability to coordinate effectively between Radiology, IT teams, clinicians, and technology vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, maintain, and support PACS and RIS environments.

• Provide L1/L2 technical and application support for radiology systems.

• Troubleshoot PACS/RIS, workflow, connectivity, and imaging-related issues.

• Ensure accurate image archiving, retrieval, routing, and distribution.

• Monitor system performance and coordinate routine maintenance.

• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.

• Work closely with radiologists, technologists, clinicians, and IT teams to improve radiology workflows.

• Support integration with HIS, EMR/EHR, and imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, and X-ray.

• Manage user access, permissions, and security controls in accordance with HIPAA and healthcare security requirements.

• Maintain technical documentation, operational logs, incident records, and change documentation.

• Support PACS/RIS upgrades, patches, testing, and implementations.

• Coordinate with vendors and third-party support teams regarding incidents, upgrades, and SLAs.

• Provide training and user education for radiology staff.

• Act as the site coordinator and primary point of contact for PACS/RIS-related activities.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of PACS/RIS administration experience in a hospital, healthcare, or clinical environment.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards.

• Experience with Intelerad and DivRAD is strongly preferred.

• Experience with Visage or similar PACS platforms.

• Exposure to radiology applications such as:

  • Aspen

  • MedInformatics

  • SCI

  • Cadstream

  • iCAD

  • Hologic

• Strong understanding of radiology workflows and modality integration.

• Experience supporting CT, MRI, X-Ray, and other imaging modalities.

• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.

• Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data security requirements.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to coordinate with clinical users, IT teams, and external vendors.
