SAP Funds Management Consultant

FM Consultant Skillset -

• Demonstrated hands‑on experience with SAP Funds Management (FM) supporting governmental fund accounting in compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements
• Proven experience supporting ECC to SAP S/4HANA brownfield migrations while preserving budgetary accounting, fund integrity, and audit continuity
• Expertise in FM configuration and validation, including FM Area, Funds, Budget Structures, Commitment/Earmarked Funds, and Availability Control (AVC) to ensure continued appropriation and legal budget compliance.
• Experience validating and reconciling budgetary (Modified Accrual) data—including budgets, commitments, and actuals—between ECC and S/4HANA for audit sign‑off.
• Hands‑on experience supporting Funds Management reporting required for:
• Statutory and external financial reporting (fund‑level statements, legally restricted funds, compliance reporting)
• Government management and oversight reporting, including budget‑to‑actual and fund utilization analysis.
• Strong understanding of the integration between FM (budgetary / Modified Accrual) and FI/FI‑AA (financial / Full Accrual) to support dual reporting obligations under GASB
• Knowledge of FM integration with FI, CO, MM, PS, and FI‑AA to maintain end‑to‑end audit trails from budgetary control through financial statements.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and cutover activities, with specific focus on fund balance integrity, commitment carryforward, and post‑go‑live stabilization
• Ability to produce audit‑ready documentation, including reconciliation schedules, control validations, and explanations suitable for internal and external government audits.
