Summary

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Technical Program Manager for a contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Fremont, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

The main function of a Technical Program Manager is to provide successful definition, implementation and delivery of complex programs that require cross-functional collaboration and interdependencies across a group of projects and related activities. This role involves program-level strategic planning, interaction with executive level management, and complex issue resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time and budget
  • Manage a group of internal and matrixed employees and contractors to deliver systems and systems enhancements that meet specified requirements
  • Oversee project scope definition and management, requirements gathering, time estimating, and project schedule development and tracking
  • Handle project budget management, project status reporting, issue and risk management, and contingency planning
  • Facilitate agile squad ceremonies (stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, release gates) to maintain delivery cadence
  • Track and unblock cross-squad and cross-functional dependencies
  • Manage release gate-keeping, validating quality and readiness criteria prior to production deployments
  • Translate business priorities into engineering-ready requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery timelines
  • Own recurring cross-project status and risk reporting cadences for stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Lead program knowledge transfer and documentation to ensure delivery continuity

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • Experience with project estimating, project scheduling & tracking, customer interaction and management, and implementation planning in large organizations
  • Proven people management and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications and business functions
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment
  • Experience with software development lifecycle

Desired skills:
  • MBA or other related advanced degree
  • PMP or PMI certification

Pay range: up to $88.95 per hour
