Summary

Role: Senior GoLang Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Rate: $85/hour
Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite 4 days per week)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Golang Engineer to lead technical initiatives, drive development efforts, and deliver high-quality solutions across distributed systems and cloud environments. This role requires strong hands-on Golang expertise, experience with modern infrastructure tooling, and the ability to design, develop, and optimize backend services in a large-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development initiatives and deliver high-impact solutions for backend and distributed systems.
Design, build, and optimize services using Golang.
Develop new functional features and enhance existing services.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects.
Maintain high standards of code quality with a strong focus on refactoring and optimized solutions.
Participate in architecture and solution design discussions.
Decompose business requirements into technical tasks with accurate effort estimation.
Document solutions, features, and system components clearly and thoroughly.
Perform reverse engineering and analysis to understand existing codebases.

Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills

6+ years of hands-on Golang development experience.
Strong experience with distributed systems.
Prior experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
Comfortable working with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
Messaging systems experience: NATS, Kafka, Kinesis.
Strong Linux background:
- Hands-on Linux environment experience
- PKI certificate management
- SSH key management
Experience with authentication & access technologies:
- SSO, MFA
- LDAP / Active Directory
- LDAP queries, schema, filters
Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases.
Experience with Git/GitHub version control.

General Engineering Skills

Ability to lead technical initiatives as a senior-level engineer.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Self-driven, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with AI / Video pipelines.
Experience building MCP servers.
Prior frontend experience (React) is a plus.
2+ years of experience with Python.
Experience working with private cloud environments.
Certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform.
Experience developing with C or JavaScript.
