Overview
We are seeking an Expert-level Software Architect to support the OPWDD Modernization and Remediation Program. This role focuses on converting legacy MS Access applications into modern SQL Server and PowerApps-based solutions, while supporting full SDLC activities for complex enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Work with business owners to gather and define requirements
Analyze business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Design, develop, test, and implement applications
Convert legacy MS Access applications to SQL Server and PowerApps
Perform data analysis, data modeling, and database design
Develop database objects and manage data structures
Identify and escalate technical risks and issues
Create technical design documents and specifications
Provide guidance and mentoring to development teams
Handle production support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
Participate in full SDLC lifecycle activities
Required Skills
Strong experience in Software Architecture and enterprise application design
Expertise in PowerApps (Canvas, Model-driven apps) and Microsoft Power Platform
Strong experience with SQL Server and relational database design
Experience converting legacy systems (MS Access to modern platforms)
Strong knowledge of multi-tier application architecture
Experience with data modeling and backend integration
Experience with Dev tools like Visual Studio, Java, Web Services, and APIs
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Power BI and Power Automate
Experience with SharePoint, Excel integrations
Experience working in government or large enterprise environments
Strong mentoring and leadership experience
