Job Title: Linux Server Administrator
Location: Remote (ET Hours)
Duration: Contract
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Linux Server Administrator to support enterprise Linux infrastructure within a secure, hybrid on-premises and cloud-integrated environment. This role focuses on operational stability, automation, storage integration, containerization, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in patch management, repository administration, container platforms, and proof-of-concept (POC) execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise Linux systems across dev, test, and production environments
- Manage OS patching and lifecycle processes to ensure compliance and system security
- Administer and maintain enterprise software repositories (e.g., Pulp or similar tools)
- Deploy and support Docker-based container environments, including image management and optimization
- Configure and maintain iSCSI storage connections, LVM, and multipathing
- Lead and document infrastructure POCs, providing recommendations for production rollout
- Manage and update incidents within the ITSM system to ensure timely resolution
- Support occasional after-hours activities as needed
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with enterprise Linux distributions
- Strong knowledge of Docker and containerized workloads
- Experience with repository management tools (Pulp or similar)
- Expertise in iSCSI, LVM, multipathing, and storage integration
- Proficiency in SSH, Bash and/or Python scripting
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem virtualization and cloud integration)
Work Schedule:
Must be available during Eastern Time business hours. Flexible scheduling available. Fully remote with optional office access.
