Key Responsibilities
1. Connectivity & Protocol Validation
- Lead the validation of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (Classic & BLE), Co-Existence (Co-Ex), Zigbee, and BLE Mesh across diverse consumer hardware.
- Conduct comprehensive Bluetooth interoperability (IOP) testing across major profiles, including A2DP, AVRCP, HID, HSP, HFP, OPP, and OBEX.
- Perform advanced RF environmental testing, including Range vs. Rate (RvR), network congestion, DFS channels, Wi-Fi frequency hopping, and captive portal behaviors inside RF chambers.
2. Test Automation & Environment Management
- Architect, scale, and maintain robust test automation frameworks utilizing Python to minimize manual testing overhead.
- Act as the Automation Point of Contact / Product Owner, defining test strategies, prioritizing automation backlogs, and ensuring high test coverage.
- Design, build, and maintain physical automation labs and network environments that simulate complex, real-world user conditions.
3. Deep-Dive Debugging & Triage
- Analyze complex, multi-layered log files to isolate root causes of wireless and system failures.
- Utilize diagnostic tools including ADB logs, Android Bluetooth snoop logs, Wireshark traces, and Ellisys Sniffer logs.
- Benchmark network performance under high-traffic conditions using tools like iPerf to validate throughput and coexistence algorithms.
4. IoT & Cloud Integration Testing
- Validate end-to-end Device-to-Cloud API communications, ensuring that physical device state changes sync with Cloud and Mobile applications.
- Verify and audit JSON payloads for accuracy, latency, and security during cloud transactions.
5. Agile Leadership & Collaboration
- Own QA release sign-offs and actively drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and defect triage meetings.
- Collaborate closely with Development, Product Management, and Systems Engineering teams to resolve blockers and ensure timely product launches.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in QA/Validation engineering, specifically focused on wireless connectivity and IoT devices (experience with Smart TVs, STBs, streaming sticks, wearables, or smart speakers is highly preferred).
- Automation: Proficient in Python programming for test automation development and scripting.
- Protocols: Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of 802.11 (Wi-Fi) protocols, Bluetooth/BLE stacks, and smart home standards (Zigbee/Matter/Mesh).
- Tools: Expert hands-on experience with packet sniffers and log analyzers (Wireshark, Ellisys, Omnipeek, ADB).
- OS Environments: Strong experience working with Android-based systems (FireOS, Android TV, AOSP) and Linux.
- Infrastructure: Proven experience operating RF chambers, attenuators, and network traffic generators (iPerf).
- Methodology: Strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies with experience acting as a QA Lead or Component Product Owner.
Education: Bachelor''s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
