At the Samsung Austin Semiconductor campus-one of the most advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities in the United States-SDSA plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the systems that keep production running around the clock. This environment demands engineering excellence, operational precision, and a deep commitment to system resilience. This role operates in a high-stakes, innovation-driven setting that is a key technical resource, supporting the mission-critical Windows platforms that underpin semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Position Summary:

This role provides deep technical expertise in Windows operating systems, ensuring that server configurations, deployments, and integrations follow architectural standards and support the performance and stability requirements of the manufacturing environment.

This is a full-time onsite role in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure, administer and support enterprise-scale Windows Server environments across on-premise, physical, virtual, VMware, Citrix, and Horizon platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for Windows OS architecture, providing guidance on system design, integration, and best practices for enterprise deployments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot current Windows Server versions, delivering advanced system analysis, performance tuning, and configuration support.
  • Monitor system health using Windows and VMware event logs, performance reports, and web log files; identify anomalies and document corrective actions through established change-management processes.
  • Provide technical consulting for application development teams, including interface design, system integration, and environment optimization.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, procedures, and architectural updates to ensure operational continuity and team knowledge sharing.
  • Deliver hands-on training, mentorship, and informal knowledge transfer to engineers and support staff to strengthen team capability.
  • Respond to urgent and escalated support cases-including after-hours and weekend incidents-to maintain uninterrupted operations in mission-critical environments.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and modernization initiatives to enhance system reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production systems, resolve complex issues, and ensure alignment with organizational security and compliance standards.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of progressive experience as a Windows Systems Engineer supporting large-scale, multi-platform enterprise environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience; relevant certifications (MCSE, VCP, etc.) preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with VMware VCF, Windows Server platforms, and virtualized infrastructure operations.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting expertise with the ability to automate administrative tasks, build custom tools, and streamline operational workflows.
  • Deep proficiency with Active Directory Services, including DNS, Group Policy Management, domain replication, OU design, and identity/security administration.
  • Strong background in Windows clustering technologies, AD maintenance, and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) configuration and support.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues through advanced troubleshooting, log analysis, and root-cause investigation.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively on cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Experience designing and implementing Windows-based solutions in high-availability, mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, virtualization concepts, and enterprise security practices.
  • Communicate clearly and partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide effective knowledge transfer to peers.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation habits and proactively share insights that strengthen team capability.
  • Respond effectively to urgent or after-hours support needs.
