Who We Are Looking For

State Street Investment Management seeks a skilled Software Developer to join the Front Office Equities Portfolio Management Technology team. This role supports development of front-office technology platforms used by portfolio managers, researchers, strategies and investment oversight

Why This Role Is Important

You will join one of the largest asset managers in the world and help build core technology that supports Equity investing at a global scale. The team delivers tools across the investment lifecycle, from portfolio construction, order generation, pre-trade analytics, which help investment professionals make informed and timely decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Be capable of working independently in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, unit testing, production deployment and support
  • Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using C#, SQL, Python or other related software engineering languages
  • Build and enhance applications supporting Equity portfolio construction, analytics, and implementation workflows
  • Apply product-centric thinking to development by understanding user needs, business outcomes, and workflow efficiency, translating them into practical technical solutions
  • Contribute to the development of analytics-driven capabilities that help portfolio managers and investment teams make better decisions.
  • Assist in building and enhancing AI-driven solutions, advanced data tools, and intelligent workflow features to improve investment processes and operational efficiency
  • Partner with risk, data, architecture, and security teams to align technical solutions with enterprise standards
  • Quality and Performance: Ensure that all technological solutions are designed and implemented with the highest standards of quality and performance. This includes rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to industry standards and guidelines

Qualifications:

Education/Experience
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other technical course of study required
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in financial services or asset management technology
  • Strong programming skills in C#, Python, VB.NET , and SQL
  • Expertise in investment and equity domains
  • Experience with APIs, data integration, and modern software architecture patterns
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong experience with batch and real-time data processing, focusing on data quality.
  • Hands-on experience with system and application performance optimization
  • Hands-on experience with CICD and Dev. Ops

Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
