As Principal SAP PP Solution Lead, you won't just configure a system; you'll architect the production planning backbone for a landmark S/4HANA transformation spanning Cooper and Altronic, shaping how legendary brands like Cooper-Bessemer, Ajax, and Superior plan, build, and deliver for another century. WHAT YOU WILL DO- Own the production planning solution architecture for the S/4HANA carve-out and transformation - setting the target-state design, configuration standards, and roadmap across SAP PP, with reach into WM, MM, and demand planning.
- Lead end-to-end PP solution design within S/4HANA, covering production orders, MRP, capacity planning, shop floor control, and repetitive manufacturing.
- Serve as the principal SAP PP subject matter expert and trusted advisor to IT, manufacturing operations, and supply chain leadership on capabilities, risks, and roadmap.
- Hold design authority for all PP-enabled processes, ensuring solutions follow clean-core principles and support performance, stability, and scale.
- Run fit-gap analysis and oversee solution quality across functional and non-functional dimensions.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops with manufacturing, planning, and warehouse stakeholders, translating complex configuration decisions into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Manage BOM and routing changes driven by engineering change orders, ensuring downstream production planning impacts are assessed and controlled.
- Represent the PP domain on the architecture review board, shaping integration patterns, master data governance, and material master consistency.
- Guide end-to-end testing strategy - unit, integration, regression, and UAT - across critical touchpoints like MRP-to-procurement and production-to-warehouse.
- Provide expert-level support through cutover, go-live, and hypercare, and mentor analysts across the PP practice.
WHO YOU ARE- Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of SAP PP functional experience, including at least one full lifecycle S/4HANA or ECC implementation; brownfield, carve-out, or consolidation experience strongly preferred.
- Deep PP expertise plus working knowledge of at least one adjacent module (MM, WM, QM, or demand planning).
- A strong manufacturing background across engineered-to-order, configure-to-order, make-to-order, and make-to-stock environments, with hands-on MRP, BOM, routing, and capacity planning experience.
- Solid grounding in master data governance and data migration considerations for material masters, BOMs, and work centers.
- Experience with SAP Engineering Change Management (ECM), including change masters and change number workflow.
- Comfort operating in hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery within ERP or supply chain programs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence director and C-suite audiences.
- A track record of mentoring junior and mid-level SAP analysts through complex implementation work.
PREFERRED- Experience in electronics, heavy industrial, engineered products, or complex manufacturing and field services environments.
- SAP or architecture framework certifications, and familiarity with public/hybrid/on-prem cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with integration between SAP ECM, QM, and PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred) for change propagation.
