Summary

The Project Engineer - Strat Int Sys role is responsible for planning and studying operations, technologies, systems, concepts, facilities, and equipment. This position looks for areas of opportunity and recommend alternatives and solutions.

Essential Functions
  • Applies advanced concepts, theories, principles, and methods to define functional specifications and conceptually design systems.
  • Independently schedules multiple project assignments and provide performance reporting to ensure deadlines and project objectives are met.
  • Applies computer-related techniques, including modeling, optimization, and simulation, in the development of systems.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management utilizing oral presentations and formal written reports.
  • Develops solutions involving unstructured environments that permit the standardization of methods, procedures, equipment and facilities.
  • Coordinates, independently multi-departmental involvement and external contacts in the completion of major projects.
  • Initiates projects that meet company and department objectives involving the improvement of operations, facilities, and the work environment.
  • Develops alternative solutions and applies financial/risk analysis to formulate recommendations for service enhancement, facility or equipment improvements.
  • Maintains in-depth expertise of selected technologies and overall understanding of computer/electronics developments through continuing primary and secondary research; acts as interface with potential users and vendors of new technologies.
  • Researches assigned technologies and determines potential application areas and timing of introduction.
  • Recognizes and independently defines cost reduction/service enhancement opportunities for strategic planning.
  • Coordinates the implementation and follow-up of recommended facilities, equipment, processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skill

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven experience in Lean Management and Project Management, with a strong track record of driving Continuous Improvement and Business Process Improvement initiatives; excellent Problem Solving abilities, a high level of initiative, and the ability to work effectively in team environments; and strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data, produce clear reports, and present actionable recommendations.

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in engineering.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years professional experience in research and development applying computer technology and other tools of engineering and business problems. Broad technological background.

Communications skills

Preferred Qualifications: This position is hybrid in Collierville TN, Plano TX, Salt Lake City UT, Coraopolis PA. The successful candidate must live within 50 miles of campus location.
