Summary

Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Senior Technical Program Manager with a major corporation in New York City. On-site 4 days per week, Fridays remote.

12+ month contract
Pay Rate:
$85 - $90/hr DOE

Must Haves:

  • An Engineering background and/or worked heavily in the engineering space as a TPM is needed as the internal clients are engineer teams.
  • Looking for a super technical PM - will not be leading any scrum ceremonies
  • Familiarity with Claude will be helpful, Jira and Airtables experience

Job Summary:
A Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the Technology Enablement Alliance reports into Business Operations while partnering with engineering teams on their most critical programs. Our TPMs play a critical role in structuring and executing impactful cross-org initiatives. You will have the opportunity to refine our processes around delivery while building a sense of community and engagement within our talented group of engineers. TPMs have a high degree of technical literacy and a desire to learn more, both within their teams' product space and across the department and division. In this role, initiatives around scaling, reliability/SRE, and developer tooling are commonly assigned as programs for this Senior TPM resource.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
This work supports the Reliability Engineering work in Technology Enablement, specifically support for Technology Enablement engagements currently on infrastructure, SRE, and devops projects with our partners in SNET and CPD alliances, along with reliability tooling work around DORA metrics, Streaming Data Platform, and Engineering Excellence AI work.

Responsibilities:

  • Own complex, high-visibility programs from planning through delivery.
  • Coordinate across teams, programs, and organizational boundaries.
  • Drive risk identification, mitigation, and stakeholder alignment. Enhance stakeholder relationships, understanding and dialogue.
  • Translate technical architecture, tooling, and tradeoffs for varied audiences.
  • Guide TPMs and stakeholders as a program delivery subject matter expert.
  • Support strategic prioritization by advising leadership on tradeoffs.
  • Scale Agile and project management practices across team-of-teams environments.
  • Increase team velocity by removing roadblocks and leveraging organizational resources while helping to drive teams towards commitments.
  • Assist with estimation and planning of team resourcing, in conjunction with engineering managers.
  • Assist with identification and tracking of success criteria/metrics
  • Track record creating and growing trusting, lasting professional relationships with diverse stakeholders, maturing team's current engagements and advocating for future work.
  • Demonstrable experience managing technical projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, developing and executing project plans and delivery commitments.
  • Deep rooted passion and proven track record building motivated and collaborative teams.
  • Detail oriented and excellent communication skills; ability to follow technical discussions and absorb technical documentation.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and/or distributed organizations.
  • Working understanding of AWS and cloud-based development and a desire to know more.
