POSITION OVERVIEW:

Client is seeking a highly skilled EHR Integrations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the technical and clinical evolution of our client's healthcare interoperability solutions. This role sits at the intersection of clinical workflow, data exchange, and administrative automation.

The ideal candidate is "techno functional" consultant with deep expertise in Electronic Health Records (EHR), FHIR standards, and Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA). You will be responsible for bridging the gap between complex clinical requirements and high-performing technical integrations, ensuring seamless data flow between healthcare providers, payers, and Health Information Networks (HINs).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Participate in deep-dive integration discovery sessions with EHR stakeholders, clinical and IT stakeholders to define technical boundaries, data mapping requirements, and workflow optimizations.

2. Partner closely with engineering and development teams to translate discovery findings into actionable technical specifications, providing clinical context and oversight throughout the development lifecycle.

3. Act as the technical SME for EHR-to-payer and EHR-to-HIN integrations, specializing in FHIR-based data exchange and traditional interoperability frameworks, collaborating with business and product stakeholders.

4. Lead the design and implementation of touchless prior authorization workflows, leveraging clinical workflows and automated medical record retrieval to reduce provider burden.

5. Oversee technical connectivity and data strategy with major Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and national networks

6. Partner with Product teams to prioritize features based on technical feasibility, clinical impact, and emerging interoperability trends.

7. Collaborate with engineering to translate clinical necessity criteria into technical specs for EHR modules including Medications, CPOE, and Clinical Noting.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. 10+ years of proven experience as a technology expert, with a documented track record of delivering scalable, enterprise-grade, cloud-ready solutions using Microsoft technologies and React/Angular-based frontends.

3. 5+ years of experience specifically working with or developing EHR systems, with a dedicated focus on electronic prior authorizations, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology.

4. Strong understanding of healthcare operations across diverse clinical environments, including large-scale hospitals and outpatient clinics

5. Advanced proficiency in HL7 FHIR, SMART on FHIR, and USCDI data classes.

6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.

7. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying, analysing, and resolving complex issues.

8. Ability to use data analysis to monitor integration performance KPIs, such as successful transaction rates and reduction in manual intervention.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced proficiency in HL7 FHIR (R4), SMART on FHIR, Da Vinci Project profiles, and USCDI data classes.

2. Experience with medical coding sets (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, SNOMED) and their application in automated clinical reviews.

3. Hands-on experience with popular EHR systems.

4. Proven experience leveraging AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate software delivery while adhering to best practices for efficiency and ethical AI usage

5. Proven ability to manage communication and delivery across multiple time zones, specifically working with offshore delivery centres
