Role Overview
Data Engineers provide data-driven solutions to help improve processes and overall business performance. This role focuses on gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to inform strategic decisions. The position involves designing data solution frameworks, ingesting data from various sources, and processing it using technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and SQL databases. Collaboration with data scientists is key to enhancing data transparency and enabling better decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and organize raw data to build data systems and pipelines.
- Evaluate business needs and objectives to interpret trends and patterns.
- Conduct complex data analysis and report on results.
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
- Build algorithms, prototypes, and combine information from different sources.
- Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
- Develop analytical tools and programs in collaboration with data scientists and architects.
- Gather and document business requirements, and design reports and dashboards.
- Design and build data models and data product roadmaps.
- Prototype solutions, prepare test scripts, and conduct tests for data replication, extraction, and loading.
Required Qualifications
Education: A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field is required.
Experience: Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role is necessary. A proven track record of managing and executing data projects is expected.
Technical Skills:- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java and Python.
- Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages.
- Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience working with data migrations and/or implementations.
- Data engineering certification (e.g., IBM Certified Data Engineer) or certification in data analytics is advantageous.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $65.00/hour to $70.24/hour. Please note that the pay range may differ based on factors such as experience, skills, and location. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
