Job Overview:

  • The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing innovative instructional programs and materials that align with organizational goals and learner needs.
  • This role requires a blend of instructional design expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, Training and Development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
  • Experience with instructional design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE, Kirkpatrick s Level of assessments, adult learning principles).
  • Experience with SCORM-compliant course development and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong understanding of 508-compliance requirements and best practices for creating accessible learning materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough Training Needs Assessments and Audience Analyses to identify learning objectives and performance gaps, training participants, and delivery channels.
  • Design, develop and maintain comprehensive, 508-compliant instructional materials, including course summary sheets, learning objectives, course outlines, storyboards, video scripts, job aids, quick reference sheets, and other supporting documents for training deliverables.
  • Create online, interactive training materials in various formats, such as printable job aids, instructor-led (virtual and in-person), microlearning, videos, and eLearning courses.
  • Generate program interactive, SCORM-compliant webinars, microlearning and full-length eLearning courses in eLearning authoring tools.
  • Develop and administer a variety of assessments, including quizzes, tests, simulations, and practical exercises, to measure learner progress and comprehension.
  • Accurately track and document the progress of instructional design projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure the accuracy and relevancy of learning materials.
  • Periodically review and update curriculum and existing training content to ensure accuracy, relevancy and alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in instructional design and adult learning theory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using Workday for creating, managing, and delivering training programs.
  • Successful implementation of large-scale ERP transition to Workday solution.
  • Master s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of gamification techniques and how to apply them to enhance learner engagement and motivation.
  • Experience in creating multimedia content, including graphics, animations, and interactive elements using tools like Adobe Creative Suite.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE, SAM).
  • Proven ability to accurately track and document the progress, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs), leadership teams, and learners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to a hybrid work schedule.
