Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Quality Control Manager for our client based out of Raleigh, NC.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

This will also have a first-shift Monday-Friday schedule.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DOW clearance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee project-level Quality Control activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and organizational procedures.
  • Implement and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans tailored to customer and contractual requirements.
  • Partner with project teams to understand scope, milestones, and quality expectations.
  • Lead and execute a Three-Phase Quality Control process, including preparatory meetings, initial inspections, and follow-up inspections.
  • Manage document control, records management, nonconformance tracking, and corrective/preventive action programs (CAPA).
  • Collect, analyze, and report inspection and quality performance data to project leadership.
  • Initiate, track, and close discrepancy reports, corrective action reports, and quality findings.
  • Coordinate with third-party testing agencies, inspectors, and design review teams to ensure compliance and quality standards are met.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction documentation for quality and contract compliance.
  • Manage punch list development, closeout activities, and commissioning quality support.
  • Perform receipt inspections of procured materials and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in operational risk, safety, and quality meetings to identify and resolve project issues.
  • Serve as the primary quality interface with customers, owners, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support internal audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, Building Science, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.

OR
  • High School Diploma with 15+ years of construction, engineering, or quality management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager.
  • Experience supporting large construction, infrastructure, engineering, or mission-critical projects.
  • Knowledge of USACE/NAVFAC Three-Phase Quality Control methodologies.
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and construction safety, hazard identification, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, inspections, nonconformance management, and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, customers, contractors, and senior leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work in collaborative, team-oriented project environments.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience supporting government, federal, DoD, military, mission-critical, or secure facility projects.
  • Experience coordinating commissioning, testing, and quality closeout activities.
  • Background managing quality initiatives across multiple trades and disciplines.
  • Experience leading customer quality meetings and owner interactions.
