Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow an Austin-based team within Oracle AI services, focusing on cutting-edge generative AI solutions, including AI-driven code generation. This role involves managing and mentoring a team of talented engineers focused on building and scaling AI-powered cloud-based services.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in managing software engineering teams, with deep expertise in AI/ML, particularly in generative AI. You will play a key role in shaping Oracle's generative AI initiatives, influencing product direction, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced AI solutions across Oracle Cloud.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a management role.
- Background in AI/ML, with a focus on generative AI and AI-driven code generation.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver large-scale services in a cloud environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on generative AI, including applications for AI-based code generation.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative engineering culture, focusing on personal and professional growth.
- Drive hiring and team-building efforts to scale the team effectively.

AI Project Management:
- Define technical strategies and roadmaps for generative AI-based services on Oracle Cloud, with a focus on AI-driven code generation and automation.
- Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance generative AI solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to align engineering goals with business objectives.

AI/ML Integration and Code Generation:
- Oversee the deployment of generative AI models for applications such as AI-based code generation, enhancing developer productivity.
- Ensure best practices in AI/ML model lifecycle management, from development to deployment and monitoring.

Cloud Technology and Architecture:
- Provide technical leadership on cloud infrastructure, software architecture, and best practices for Oracle Cloud AI services.
- Ensure solutions are optimized for scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness in a cloud environment.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest AI/ML trends, especially in generative AI and code generation, integrating cutting-edge technologies and practices.
- Continuously seek to improve team processes, development workflows, and system performance.

Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate technical solutions, progress, and challenges to leadership and stakeholders.
- Act as a key technical advisor for strategic decisions related to AI, generative AI services, and software development.

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
