Description:
Hybrid 3 days on site in San Diego, CA

The organization seeks a Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to ensure product quality for a mobile user application within an agile environment. The role will author and execute manual and automated tests across UI and backend components, collaborate with engineers and developers, and maintain comprehensive test documentation. The position emphasizes regression, performance, and automated testing practices, along with effective communication and agile collaboration.

Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Author and execute manual and automated test cases to validate product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain tools, techniques, and practices that improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Participate in agile planning, analysis, design events, and reviews.
  • Verify quality checks and acceptance criteria prior to code merges.
  • Report defects and test results completely and in a timely manner.
  • Identify, analyze, and document issues with functionality, output, user interface, or content.
  • Provide input during product design reviews on requirements, designs, schedules, and risks.
  • Write testing documentation and support completion of system and software documentation CDRLs.
  • Work within Agile Scrum teams and practices.

Experience Requirements:
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance.
  • 8 to 10 years of software development testing experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in software testing and/or software development.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience implementing regression testing.
  • Experience performing performance testing and other quality attribute testing.
  • Familiarity with automated test tools for software projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with product owners and developers.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies (preferred).
  • Ability to identify process efficiencies between development and testing (preferred).
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (preferred).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN (preferred).
  • Experience with issue tracking systems such as VersionOne or Jira (preferred).
  • Experience with continuous integration environments such as Jenkins (preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint (preferred).
  • Experience using Squish for Qt (preferred).
  • Agile certification (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • DoD 8570 approved security certification, such as Security+ or CISSP (required within 90 days of hire).
  • Active Secret Clearance.
