Position Overview
Hyatt is seeking two Senior TypeScript Engineers to join its Global Digital & Technology organization supporting next-generation Sales & Marketing platforms focused on personalized guest engagement and outreach.
These positions are backfills for engineers whose experience was heavily rooted in legacy technology stacks. Hyatt is intentionally moving toward a modern cloud-native architecture built around TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS Serverless technologies, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
This is not a traditional enterprise Java development role.
The ideal candidate is a product-minded engineer who can design, build, deploy, and support modern cloud-native applications while partnering closely with Product Managers, UX teams, and engineering leadership.
What Hyatt Actually Needs
Hyatt is not looking for a traditional Full Stack Developer.
They are hiring a:
Modern TypeScript Engineer with deep AWS Serverless experience who can build customer-facing applications from concept through production.
The strongest candidates will have spent the last several years building cloud-native applications using:
- TypeScript
- React
- Node.js
- AWS Lambda
- Step Functions
- DynamoDB
- Cognito
- Terraform
This role sits at the intersection of:
Product Engineering + AWS Serverless + TypeScript Development + Cloud Infrastructure
The manager specifically noted these positions are replacing engineers with strong legacy-stack backgrounds and moving toward modern cloud-native engineering practices.
Must-Have Technical Skills
Modern TypeScript Development

AWS Serverless Architecture

Full Stack Product Development
- Design, develop, and operate cloud-native applications
- Build scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Deliver customer-facing solutions supporting personalized guest engagement initiatives
- Own features throughout the full development lifecycle
AWS Cloud Engineering
- Develop and deploy serverless applications
- Design event-driven solutions
- Build APIs and backend services
- Support cloud-native modernization initiatives
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Define infrastructure using Terraform
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Support cloud deployment strategies
- Partner with Operations teams supporting production systems
Product Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers and UX Designers
- Participate in roadmap planning
- Influence technical direction
- Leverage analytics and user feedback to improve products
Technical Leadership
- Mentor engineering team members
- Participate in architecture discussions

Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
- 7 years is considered the ideal experience level
