Senior Platform Engineer - API

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer - API

This role designs, develops, and maintains digital technology infrastructure to support information technology applications and services. The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features to meet user needs and business goals. It also includes upgrading existing platforms to improve performance and functionality through writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, as well as troubleshooting and debugging complex issues.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipeline, and twelve-factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
• Partners with cross-functional teams of product managers, designers, and other engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test-driven development as needed.
• Recommends options for improving the software development and deployment processes and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes, and system configurations.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.

Requirements:

• Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience, typically reflecting 5-7 years or more of relevant experience.
• Experience with API management platforms such as Kong, Layer7, Google Apigee, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong understanding of API gateway architecture, traffic management, security, etc.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of API performance monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience with API management platforms like Kong, Broadcom Layer7, Google Apigee, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of API gateway architecture, traffic management, rate limiting, and security policies.
• Expertise in API lifecycle management, including design, publishing, versioning, and retirement.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect).
• Proficiency in automation and scripting for API deployment and configuration (Python, Shell, Ansible).
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration and DevOps practices for API platforms.
• Knowledge of monitoring and analytics for API performance and usage (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Exposure to cloud-native API solutions and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to lead complex API platform initiatives.
