Salesforce Architect – Solution/Platform

Position Summary:

The Senior Salesforce Solution Architect is a technically focused, platform-level architect responsible for designing and guiding scalable Salesforce solutions across the enterprise. This role is best suited for an architect who began their career in Salesforce development and brings a solid hands-on development foundation. The architect will look across the Salesforce platform as a whole, support multiple initiatives, define technical direction and roadmaps, and guide MVP implementations while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives. This is not a Revenue Operations (RevOps)-focused architecture role; the emphasis is Salesforce platform architecture, technical solution design, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Understand and analyze business processes, technical requirements, and platform needs to inform solution design.

·       Collaborate with stakeholders—including executives, business users, developers, and admins—to align IT strategy and translate requirements into technical solutions.

·       Architect end-to-end, platform-level Salesforce solutions that are scalable, secure, high-performing, and reusable across multiple projects and business initiatives.

·       Design and implement integration solutions using modern patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture, pub/sub, SOA).

·       Oversee API-based and middleware integrations (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi).

·       Design and optimize data models, relationships, and migration strategies.

·       Conduct system performance analysis and implement optimization strategies for data storage and automation efficiency.

·       Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to Salesforce development teams, drawing on a strong prior background as a Salesforce Developer or Technical Lead.

·       Guide the design and implementation of custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), OmniStudio, and Flows; understand development fundamentals well enough to evaluate technical approaches and guide developers.

·       Enforce coding standards, platform limits, and security policies.

·       Establish governance frameworks for integration standards, monitoring, logging, and error handling.

·       Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate CI/CD pipelines.

·       Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps and technical plans that help prioritize Salesforce platform work across the year, including MVP implementations and phased delivery approaches.

·       Evaluate emerging Salesforce capabilities, including AI-enabled development and platform capabilities, and recommend practical opportunities to incorporate them into future solutions.

·       Document architecture standards, policies, and procedures for reference and compliance. 

·       Mentor and guide technical teams on cloud best practices and architectural patterns.

Required Experience:

·       Minimum 7 years of experience in IT architecture, systems design, Salesforce development, or integration architecture, with a strong foundation in hands-on Salesforce development.

·       Minimum 5 years’ experience designing cloud-native integrations.

·       Minimum 3 years as a Salesforce Solution Architect or Technical Lead on enterprise Salesforce implementations, ideally progressing from a Salesforce Developer or similar hands-on technical role.

Education:

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·       Minimum two of the following Salesforce certifications: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer 1; Salesforce Certified Sharing and Visibility Architect; Salesforce Certified Identity and Access Management Architect; Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect; Salesforce Certified Integration Architect; Salesforce Certified Data Architect; Salesforce Certified Application Architect; Salesforce Certified System Architect; Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder

Skills Required:

·       Deep platform-level expertise in Salesforce capabilities, architecture, data modeling, integration patterns, security, scalability, and platform best practices.

·       Proven track record of designing and delivering complex Salesforce solutions across multiple concurrent projects, including MVP implementations and longer-term platform roadmaps.

·       Strong experience with Service Cloud and/or Experience Cloud; Experience Cloud expertise is highly valued.

·       Familiarity with common architectural patterns and APIs (e.g., REST/SOAP, Pub/Sub, Facade, Observer) and Salesforce-specific patterns (Trigger Frameworks, Bulkification).

·       Experience in data modeling, large data volumes and performance optimization.

·       Strong Salesforce development foundation, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, development fundamentals, and DevOps tools such as Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce DX.

·       Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source-driven development.

·       Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

·       Strong communication, presentation, and leadership abilities to guide and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

·       Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

·       Ability to evaluate the Salesforce platform holistically, establish technical direction, and guide teams through evolving business and technology needs.

Qualifications Preferred:

·       Familiarity with or strong interest in Salesforce AI capabilities and the use of AI within development and solution delivery is a strong plus. Background in the Financial Services industry and prior leadership or consulting experience are also preferred.
