Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Migration Specialist to lead a comprehensive database migration project from SQL Server 2016 to SQL Server 2022. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in database migration, reporting services, and integration platforms. You will work independently to ensure a smooth, validated transition of critical database infrastructure and associated components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute full migration of SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports from legacy SQL Server 2016 environment to SQL Server 2022, including comprehensive testing and validation
• Migrate and optimize SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages to the new SQL Server 2022 platform, ensuring all workflows function correctly post-migration
• Assess, redesign, and migrate SSIS packages to Azure Data Factory, modernizing data integration processes for cloud-based operations
• Develop, test, and maintain custom scripts and utilities using VB.NET or C#.NET to support migration activities and post-migration operations
• Write and optimize complex queries and stored procedures using T-SQL and PL/SQL
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of all migrated components to ensure data integrity and system functionality
• Document migration processes, configurations, and lessons learned
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining regular communication with stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with SQL Server administration, development, or migration projects
• Demonstrated expertise in SQL Server 2016 and SQL Server 2022 environments
• Hands-on experience migrating SSRS reports and SSIS packages in production environments
• Proven experience with Azure Data Factory and cloud-based data integration
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL and PL/SQL query development and optimization
• Solid programming skills in VB.NET or C#.NET (or both)
• Experience with database migration planning, execution, and validation methodologies
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple migration workstreams
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server 2019 or other intermediate versions
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or other Azure data services
• Knowledge of data warehousing or business intelligence platforms
• Experience with migration tools such as SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) or third-party migration utilities
• Certifications in SQL Server or Azure
