Summary

Position : Data Migration Analyst

Location : Houston, Texas Hybrid

Duration : Long Term Contract

Mandatory skills

  • Ability to work closely with the team to support migration planning, design, execution, and validation activities.
  • Strong understanding of data migration concepts, including source-to-target mapping, data profiling, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, and cutover support.
  • Experience analyzing source-system data, identifying data quality issues, and documenting dependencies, risks, assumptions, and remediation needs.
  • Ability to translate business and technical requirements into clear migration rules, mappings, and actionable deliverables for engineering teams.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across business, architecture, engineering, governance, and testing teams.
  • Experience supporting migration testing and validation by reconciling record counts, key data attributes, transformation results, and exception reports.

Must-have skills to check on the resume

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and PySpark.
  • Experience with Databricks or a comparable big data processing platform.
  • Practical experience in Azure or AWS.
  • Development of end-to-end ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Experience with data warehousing and large-scale data processing.
  • Real project implementation experience, not just theoretical knowledge.
