Summary
Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) – Fiber Operations
Department: Digital Transformation / In-House Software Engineering
Reports to: Director of Enterprise Architecture
Role Purpose
As the Pega Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of our enterprise-grade Pega Infinity platform. Your mission is to automate the high-stakes processes unique to fiber ISPs: GIS-integrated network planning, technician dispatch (Field Service), automated provisioning, and hyper-personalized customer retention. You will ensure our in-house builds are scalable, adhere to Pega guardrails, and integrate seamlessly with our BSS/OSS ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Architecture & Design
- Fiber Workflow Orchestration: Design end-to-end case management for fiber-specific journeys (e.g., Lead-to-Install, Service Assurance, and Outage Management).
- Guardrail Compliance: Ensure all in-house development maintains a weighted average guardrail score of 90+, prioritizing "App Studio-first" and low-code principles.
- Infrastructure Strategy: Oversee the transition or optimization of Pega on Cloud (AWS/Azure) or Pega Cloud, ensuring high availability for 24/7 network monitoring.
2. Integration & Data Modeling
- BSS/OSS Integration: Architect robust integrations (REST/Kafka/SOAP) with Billing systems, CRM, and Network Inventory tools (e.g., Netcracker, Amdocs, or ESRI ArcGIS).
- Real-Time Provisioning: Build automated "handshakes" between Pega and network elements to activate ONT/OLT devices without manual intervention.
3. Leadership & Governance
- In-House Mentorship: Lead a team of Senior System Architects (SSAs) and System Architects (SAs), conducting code reviews and technical grooming.
- Center of Excellence (CoE): Establish an in-house Pega CoE to standardize UI/UX patterns (Cosmos/Constellation) and reusable component libraries.
Required Qualifications
- Certification: Pega Certified Lead System Architect (PCLSA) is mandatory.
- Experience: 8+ years in Pega development, with at least 3 years in an Architect role.
- Domain Expertise: Direct experience in Telecommunications or Broadband sectors is highly preferred, specifically with the Pega Communications Communications Service Provider (CSP) framework.
- Technical Stack: * Deep knowledge of Pega 8.x/Infinity and Constellation UI.
- Experience with Decision Management (CDH) for "Next-Best-Action" marketing in a competitive ISP landscape.
- Solid understanding of SQL, Java, and DevOps pipelines (Pega Deployment Manager).
The "Fiber" Edge: Why This Role is Different
Unlike a consultant who moves from project to project, you will own the product. You’ll see the direct impact of your architecture when:
- A "Truck Roll" is avoided because your Pega-automated diagnostic flow fixed a customer''s router remotely.
- Fiber deployment speed increases by 20% due to your streamlined permit-tracking case design.
- Churn drops because your "Next-Best-Action" logic offered a speed upgrade at the exact moment a customer’s contract expired.
