Summary

ICF Office Location: Arlington, Virginia (Crystal City) or New York, New York/Hybrid (i.e., two days in the office; the other days may be remote or in the office)

ICF is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated candidate to assist with research, data analysis, writing, and related activities to support our environmental regulatory programs work. This position will focus on support to programs related to the accounting and management of ozone depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases, which could include risk assessment development, toxicity review, rulemaking support, economic assessment, analysis of chemical production pathways, market research, emissions inventory and consumption modeling, and review of scientific literature, patents, and/or permits.

Candidates must be comfortable conducting data-driven analyses and effectively communicating the findings. Candidates must be strong critical thinkers, with the ability to help develop and customize approaches to data analysis to help meet the needs of a given project.

Relocation will not be supported. This role is a full-time non-exempt role with a target salary of $68,000 ($32.69/hour).

Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Economics, Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental programs, chemicals management, climate change, or sustainability topics.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization is required due to federal contract requirements.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience performing quantitative analyses and managing and analyzing large datasets.
  • Comfort working with Microsoft Excel, R, and/or Python.
  • The ability to use research and data to help "tell a story" and provide salient information to inform client decision making.
  • Familiarity reading and interpreting technical scientific information.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.

  • The Vienna Convention and its Montreal Protocol plus Kigali Amendment
  • Developing greenhouse gas inventories or estimating greenhouse gas reductions
  • Refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump end uses
  • Federal, state, or local regulatory development and/or implementation support
  • Communicating complex topics to general audiences

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$60,967.00 - $103,643.00
