Full Stack Java / Spring Boot Developer
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
This position is for an experienced Full Stack Java Developer with strong hands-on expertise in
Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, event-driven architecture, cloud-based application
development, and modern web UI frameworks. This individual will be responsible for designing,
developing, documenting, testing, debugging, and supporting secure, scalable software applications
across both back-end and front-end components. The ideal candidate should have practical
experience building enterprise applications using Spring Boot and modern front-end frameworks
such as React, Vue, or Angular, along with a strong understanding of UI development standards,
API integration, CI/CD practices, and cloud deployment in AWS.
Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing full stack applications using
Java, Spring Boot, and modern web UI frameworks.
Build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven
applications.
Develop responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using modern UI frameworks such as
React, Vue, or Angular.
Integrate front-end applications with back-end services, APIs, authentication flows, and
enterprise data sources.
Develop cloud-native applications using AWS services such as ECS, EKS, S3, SNS, SQS,
DynamoDB, and related platform capabilities.
Utilize GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deployment, and release
processes.
Apply secure software development practices, coding standards, and industry best practices
across the full application stack.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and non-production application issues across
front-end, back-end, and cloud components.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including design details, API documentation,
deployment notes, and operational support procedures.
Requirements and Skills
Proven experience as a full stack software engineer or application developer.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and
supporting enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Strong hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and back-end
services using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and related Java technologies.
3+ years of hands-on front-end development experience using modern web UI frameworks
such as React, Vue, or Angular.
Strong understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, responsive design,
component-based UI development, and front-end integration with APIs.
5+ years of hands-on experience implementing AWS technologies such as EKS, ECS, SNS,
SQS, DynamoDB, S3, CDK, or CloudFormation.
Experience with cloud deployments, containerized applications, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD
workflow automation.
Experience with unit testing and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito or
similar tools.
Hands-on experience building and supporting REST, Pub/Sub messaging, and event-driven
applications.
Experience working in Agile delivery teams where continuous integration, continuous
delivery, collaboration, and iterative development are critical.
Experience with secure software development life cycle practices and secure coding
standards.
Knowledge of application security principles and familiarity with code scanning tools such as
SonarQube, Veracode, Wiz, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control,
dependency management, software packaging, release management, and production
support.
Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work
effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a focus on quality
delivery.
