This role calls for a hands-on quality leader who can shape how complex software is tested and shipped within a banking and payments setting. You will set the direction for testing and automation, keep the underlying processes sharp and evolving, build shared tooling that other teams can rely on, and act as a quality gatekeeper across every environment while staying closely connected to engineering, product, and business partners. Test Strategy & Frameworks Set the overall direction for testing and automation, keeping the way we work consistent, repeatable, and always improving. Create shared, reusable test frameworks and accelerators that other teams across the organisation can pick up and run with. Steer the automation build-out, review both application and test code, and coach engineers toward stronger practices. Test Process & Execution Stand up and run the core testing routines from generating test data to logging defects, tracking runs, and reporting outcomes. Keep a clear thread from business requirement through to test coverage and any defects raised, so nothing falls through the cracks. Make sure every mandate, internal or regulatory, is honoured and that each environment stays compliant. Payments Domain Testing Build test scenarios that exercise card flows (authorisation, clearing, settlement) alongside ACH, wires, and instant payments like RTP and FedNow. Check that payment messages line up with standards such as ISO 20022, ISO 8583, and SWIFT across the test data you use. Put reconciliation, chargebacks, refunds, and the full transaction lifecycle through their paces from start to finish. Design for the things that bite money-critical systems: correctness, idempotency, security, and graceful failure at high volume. Delivery & Collaboration Partner with colleagues across onshore and offshore locations to keep delivery consistent and dependable. Give stakeholders a straight read on quality where things stand, what the risks are, and whether we are ready to go live. |
