Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer Operational Technology (OT) / ICS / SCADA
Location: Remote/Washington DC.
Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support its high-priority Operational Technology (OT) Modernization initiative. This role will focus on strengthening cybersecurity capabilities, improving security visibility, and protecting critical operational technology infrastructure while supporting TSA cybersecurity authorization requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience securing OT, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA environments, or other critical infrastructure systems. The engineer will collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and network teams to identify security risks, improve OT security posture, and accelerate modernization initiatives.
This is a 100% remote contract opportunity open to candidates located within the Continental United States (CONUS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support cybersecurity modernization initiatives across Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Assess and strengthen security controls for OT, ICS, and SCADA infrastructure.
  • Identify cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and potential threats affecting industrial control environments.
  • Improve OT asset visibility, inventory management, and network security monitoring.
  • Support OT network security initiatives, including segmentation, firewall controls, and traffic monitoring.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity teams to implement security improvements.
  • Support cybersecurity risk assessments, remediation activities, and security documentation.
  • Assist with TSA cybersecurity authorization and applicable critical infrastructure security requirements.
  • Evaluate security risks associated with legacy operational technology systems.
  • Participate in Agile / SAFe delivery activities and coordinate with cross-functional technical teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, preferably within Operational Technology environments.
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to OT, ICS, SCADA, or industrial control systems.
  • Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles and industrial network security.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity risks and challenges associated with critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with vulnerability identification, security assessments, and risk remediation.
  • Understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, network segmentation, and security monitoring.
  • Ability to work with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams on security modernization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with OT security platforms such as Claroty, Nozomi Networks, Dragos, or Tenable OT.
  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and NIST SP 800-82.
  • Exposure to TSA cybersecurity directives or transportation-sector cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance, authorization, and remediation activities.
  • Previous experience in transportation, railways, utilities, energy, or other critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile, Scrum, or other Agile delivery methodologies.
