About the Role
The Senior Application Developer is a key member of the Enterprise Collaboration Applications team and is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of some of our company's critical platforms used across the organization. This role acts as the technical authority and super administrator for these applications, defining how they are configured, automated, secured, and evolved.
The role focuses on building scalable, reliable, and well-governed collaboration platforms through automation, configuration as code, and integrations, while partnering closely with security, compliance, and business teams. You will drive application strategy and roadmaps, oversee migrations and consolidations, guide platform adoption, and ensure operational excellence for systems critical to daily business operations.
\\-\\-\\-\\- What the Candidate Will Do ----
01. Serve as technical owner and super administrator for enterprise collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365 etc.)
02. Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation for application administration, integrations, reporting, and governance
03. Implement and enforce configuration as code for all application configurations and policies
04. Build and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, and SDKs
05. Define and maintain enterprise standards, guardrails, and best practices for collaboration tools
06. Own application roadmaps, feature evaluations, usage analytics, capacity planning, and lifecycle management
07. Partner with security, privacy, legal, and compliance teams to ensure platforms meet regulatory, audit, and data-protection requirements
08. Lead application migrations, consolidations, and platform transitions, including large-scale data migrations
09. Drive buy vs. build decisions, including evaluation of SaaS, third-party, and GenAI-enabled solutions
10. Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness
11. Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident remediation for platform outages or degradations
12. Manage vendor relationships, including roadmap alignment, escalations, and support engagements
13. Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases
14. Mentor engineers and administrators, setting technical, automation, and operational best practices
\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----
01. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
02. 5+ years of experience managing tier-0/1, enterprise-critical applications
03. Strong, hands-on Python development experience (mandatory)
04. Experience working with RESTful APIs, OAuth, service accounts, and webhooks
05. Experience with infrastructure or configuration as code tools (e.g., Terraform or custom Python frameworks)
06. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git)
07. Experience administering enterprise collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft 365)
08. Experience implementing automation and configuration as code in production environments
09. Solid understanding of enterprise SaaS governance, identity, and lifecycle management
10. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. Experience with additional programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, or PowerShell
2. Awareness of and experience evaluating Generative AI (GenAI) tools and features within enterprise SaaS platforms
3. Knowledge of identity, access management, and security controls for SaaS applications
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$180,000 per year - USD$200,000 per year.
