Art Director

Description

We are looking for an Art Director to lead high-impact visual work for a long-term contract opportunity based in Arlington, Virginia. This role is ideal for an experienced creative specialist who can shape compelling brand experiences across digital and print channels while guiding design conversations with senior stakeholders. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving remote environment, bringing strategic thinking, strong visual judgment, and thoughtful execution to every project.

Responsibilities:
Lead the creative direction and execution of brand assets across websites, publications, presentations, and other marketing materials.
Develop original visual concepts that strengthen brand identity and support the needs of large, multifaceted organizations undergoing brand evolution.
Present design solutions to executive-level clients with confidence, clearly explaining creative rationale and responding to feedback constructively.
Partner closely with internal designers, freelance creatives, and cross-functional collaborators to deliver cohesive, high-quality work.
Create effective front-end web design layouts and work alongside developers to ensure visual integrity through implementation.
Produce high-quality deliverables in Adobe Creative Cloud as well as functional, visually refined materials in Word, PowerPoint, and Canva.
Apply strong print design knowledge to develop materials that meet both creative and production standards.
Stay informed on emerging design trends and bring fresh, relevant ideas into the creative process.

Requirements

At least 7 years of agency experience in art direction, graphic design, or a closely related creative discipline.
A standout portfolio demonstrating strong work across brand identity, website design, and editorial or publication projects.
Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma.
Proven success presenting creative work to senior executives and articulating the reasoning behind design decisions.
Experience guiding or contributing to rebranding initiatives for large and complex organizations.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to thrive on distributed teams in a fast-paced setting.
Hands-on experience designing for the web and coordinating with developers on front-end execution.
Additional capabilities in video or motion graphics are appreciated but not required.
