About the Role
We are partnering with a leading organization in the health insurance and healthcare payer industry to hire a Manager of Business Process Engineering. This role is responsible for designing future?state processes that do not yet exist and driving continuous improvement across multiple value streams. Working closely with cross?functional leaders, vendors, and employees at all levels, this position supports a holistic Lean Six Sigma operating model. The Manager will guide process evaluation, documentation, design, and implementation, while ensuring long?term adoption through project management and organizational change management practices. This role may oversee multiple direct reports.
The Manager of Business Process Engineering supports seven key value streams and partners with Process Owners, Managers, and Business Consultants to lead continuous improvement across end?to?end processes and supporting systems. This role is responsible for designing future?state processes, advancing Lean Six Sigma maturity, ensuring successful implementation of changes, and fostering long?term adoption through program and project management practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading evaluation, documentation, design, and ongoing improvement of end?to?end business processes.
- Designing future?state processes for areas where no existing framework is in place.
- Driving Lean Six Sigma initiatives across seven key value streams.
- Collaborating with cross?functional leaders, vendors, and employees at all organizational levels.
- Supporting Process Owners and Business Consultants in continuous improvement efforts.
- Guiding transition from process design to implementation, ensuring changes are adopted and sustained.
- Providing leadership and potential supervision for multiple direct reports.
- Partnering with business and technology teams to design scalable and effective future?state processes.
- Delivering clear, compelling presentations and content for internal and external stakeholders.
- Leading cross?functional teams from concept through full implementation with a hands?on approach.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus 7+ years in Business Process Management, Business Analytics, Program/Project Management, Business Operations, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience in the health plan/payer or healthcare industry.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with 7+ years of experience.
- Proven leadership across large cross?functional teams.
- Continuous improvement and implementation experience.
- Program and project management experience.
- Client?focused program, project, and process management experience with operational and cross?functional workflows.
- Ability to create, deliver, and present content clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience building and leading cross?functional teams from design through implementation.
- Experience collaborating with business and technology teams to define future?state processes.
- Hands?on approach to driving work forward (not coaching only).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Visio, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience supervising Business Process Consultants.
- Mastery of Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, A3, Kanban boards, 5 Whys, and FMEA.
- Functional understanding of Agile methodology.
- Hands?on organizational change management experience.
- Platform migration experience.
- Knowledge of systems such as Healthrules and/or Cosmos.
