Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Location: Cherry Point, North Carolina

Rivet Operations Company is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to provide advanced technical IT support to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. This role plans, implements, and manages complex server and network infrastructures to ensure maximum uptime, security, and performance across unclassified and classified environments.

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for daily technical support of unclassified and classified workstations and applications, managing user accounts, and providing helpdesk support for all ALD personnel and approved third-party contractors. This role manages workstation configurations and peripherals; diagnoses and repairs aviation programs of record (POR), local area network (LAN) connectivity, and operating system issues; verifies all aviation information systems (AIS) comply with Information Assurance (IA) standards; and manages SharePoint sites to ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Manage workstation configurations and peripherals and diagnose and repair aviation programs of record (POR), LAN connectivity, and operating system issues.

Verify all aviation information systems (AIS) are compliant with Information Assurance (IA) standards and manage SharePoint sites to ensure compliance with all regulations.

Design system architecture and administer virtualization environments, including VMware and Linux, as well as cloud environments.

Manage security functions, including firewalls, backups, and related system protection measures.

Conduct periodic visits to USMC sites to upgrade, repair, and provide lifecycle support for IT equipment; research and identify process automation technology to increase operational readiness.

Automate routine administrative tasks through scripting and configuration management tools to improve efficiency.

Maintain system documentation, including configurations, standard operating procedures, and change records.

Coordinate with network, security, and application teams to plan and implement infrastructure changes.

Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.

Perform system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery testing to protect data and ensure continuity.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience to meet one of these qualifications is desired:

A minimum of 8 years' general experience with an associate's degree.

A minimum of 6 years' general experience with a bachelor's degree.

A minimum of 4 years' general experience with a master's degree.

In lieu of a degree, candidates may qualify with an additional number of years of relevant experience.

Specialized experience planning, implementing, and managing complex server and network infrastructures to ensure maximum uptime, security, and performance.

Experience designing system architecture and administering virtualization environments, including VMware and Linux as well as cloud environments.

Experience managing security functions, including firewalls, backups, and related system protection measures.

Experience managing, installing, and maintaining network infrastructure, hardware, software, and application support environments.

Experience mentoring junior technical staff.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 40 lbs.
