Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior ABAP RAP Developer to construct the high-performance ERP transactional backbone required for autonomous AI agents. Adhering strictly to SAP Clean Core principles, this role will build custom C1-released Core Data Services (CDS) views and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) business objects for inventory movements, purchase requisitions, and operational supply chain flows.
Core Responsibilities
• Design and develop ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) business objects (managed and unmanaged with draft capabilities) exposing OData V4 services.
• Develop optimized, C1-released Core Data Services (CDS) transactional and analytical views across Inventory Management (MM-IM) and Sourcing & Procurement (MM-PUR).
• Implement validation routines, determinations, and custom RAP actions (e.g., simulate stock transfer, draft purchase requisition, check ATP availability).
• Ensure strict adherence to SAP Clean Core / ABAP Cloud rules, avoiding direct modifications and utilizing released extension points and standard APIs.
• Support end-to-end integration testing with BTP services, profiling performance via ABAP Trace (SAT) and Gateway performance tools.
Required Technical Qualifications
• Core Frameworks: Expert in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), ABAP Cloud, Core Data Services (CDS), and OData V2/V4 publishing.
• ERP Modules: Proven background building logic around Material Documents, Stock Transport Orders (STOs), Purchase Orders/Requisitions, and Batch Management.
• Modern Tooling: Proficiency in ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse (not solely SE80/legacy GUI) and Git-enabled ABAP (abapGit).
• Clean Core Discipline: Demonstrated experience working with SAP C1-released interface contracts and decoupling business logic from underlying DB tables.
Red Flags to Screen Out
• Legacy procedural ABAP developers whose experience is strictly classical reports, SAPScript, SmartForms, BDC/Call Transaction scripts, or Web Dynpro.
• Candidates unfamiliar with ADT in Eclipse or who cannot explain the difference between a Managed and Unmanaged RAP Business Object.
