Job Details

SCADA Engineer (Dual Platform: Emerson AspenTech OSI ADMS & GE POA)

Long Term Contract

Columbus, OH or Corpus Christi, TX

Experience: 2+ years

Role summary

Owns the day-to-day maintenance, configuration, and support of two production ADMS/SCADA environments in parallel — Emerson (formerly AspenTech/OSI) ADMS and GE POA. The role covers SCADA point configuration, custom schematic building, database and model upkeep, and real-time operations support on both platforms, including the dual-run period while both systems remain in service.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform dual maintenance across Emerson ADMS and GE POA: system health checks, patching and upgrade support, user support, and issue resolution on both platforms
  • Configure and maintain SCADA points end to end — analogs, status points, controls, and accumulators, including scaling, alarm limits, scan rates, deadbands, and quality handling
  • Map telemetry from RTIEDs into both systems; support point-to-point checkout with field and substation teams during commissioning
  • Build and maintain custom schematics and one-line displays in display builder
  • Maintain the SCADA/network database: new devices, feeder reconfigurations, substation additions, and point database cleanup
  • Troubleshoot real-time data problems — stale or bad-quality points, control failures, front-end/communications issues — coordinating with operations and IT/OT support
  • Keep the two platforms consistent during dual operation: the same device, point, or schematic change lands correctly in both systems

Required qualifications

  • Preferable hands-on administration/configuration experience with SCADA system and display/schematic tools
  • Demonstrated ability to configure SCADA points from source to screen: field signal → RTU → front end → database point → display/alarm
  • Working knowledge of distribution operations — substations, feeders, switching devices, and network topology
  • 2+ years in utility SCADA/ADMS support roles; bachelor’s in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
