Role Summary
This Facilities Manager position oversees the full lifecycle management of a diverse facility portfolio, ensuring operational excellence across multiple sites. The role involves strategic planning, property acquisition, buildout, day-to-day operations, maintenance, renovation projects, and site decommissioning. The Facilities Manager collaborates with internal departments and external partners to maintain reliable, compliant, and efficient facilities that support business growth and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute real estate and lifecycle strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new facility locations; conduct due diligence and space planning.
- Manage the full lifecycle of facilities, including acquisition, buildout, operation, sustainment, optimization, and decommissioning.
- Lead lease negotiations, renewals, and expansions; oversee vendor and service contract management.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Manage critical environments such as data centers, labs, or controlled spaces, ensuring operational uptime.
- Coordinate utilities procurement, monitoring, and implement energy and sustainability initiatives.
- Plan and oversee renovations, capital projects, and scope of work with vendors, architects, and contractors.
- Direct daily building operations, repair work, and space management via CMMS tools.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets; track expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead and develop facilities staff and contractor teams, fostering a safety-conscious and service-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of progressive facilities management experience, including 3+ years managing teams, vendors, and budgets.
- Proven experience managing full facility lifecycle projects, from site selection to decommissioning.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building automation, and critical environment operations.
- Skilled in lease negotiations, vendor management, and capital project oversight.
- Proficiency with CMMS, building management systems, and standard Office tools.
- In-depth understanding of building codes, fire/life safety, ADA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent project management, budgeting, communication, and vendor relations skills.
- Ability to lead multiple projects and teams concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Publishing Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually
