RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a Java Software Developer.
Summary:
This individual will focus primarily on server-side Java development, helping design, build, enhance, and support scalable backend services within a modern, distributed environment. We are looking for someone who brings solid technical fundamentals, enjoys solving complex problems, and is genuinely motivated to learn new technologies and quickly come up to speed in unfamiliar areas. This team is also embracing AI-assisted software development and automation, so an interest in leveraging AI to improve engineering productivity, application development, testing, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java
* Translate business and technical requirements into well-designed, maintainable software solutions
* Develop and enhance server-side services, APIs, integrations, and application components
* Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions
* Create technical solutions that integrate effectively with existing systems, applications, and platforms
* Develop applications utilizing Spring Boot and modern Java-based frameworks
* Work with messaging and queuing technologies, server-side caching, and distributed systems
* Build and support applications within containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
* Develop and support applications utilizing MongoDB and other data technologies
* Use GitLab, CI/CD practices, and automated deployment processes throughout the software development lifecycle
* Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and overall engineering productivity
* Participate in code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong hands-on experience with Java and server-side development
* Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting backend software applications
* Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, application design, and software development best practices
* Experience developing RESTful services, APIs, or distributed backend systems
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Experience working within a collaborative and iterative software development environment
* Ability to understand existing applications and quickly become productive within complex technical environments
* Self-motivated and intellectually curious, with a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks quickly
* Strong hands-on developer who is comfortable working across existing systems while also developing new functionality
Experience with several of the following is highly preferred:

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
