SWIFT Technology Developer / SWIFT Integration Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SWIFT Technology Developer / SWIFT Integration Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and support enterprise-scale SWIFT payment messaging solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SWIFT infrastructure, payment systems integration, ISO 20022 migration, Java development, middleware technologies, and production support.

This role focuses on the technical architecture and engineering of SWIFT platforms rather than business analysis or operations. The candidate will work closely with payment, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available payment integration solutions across domestic and international banking systems.

Experience Required

• 8-12+ Years of experience in SWIFT Integration, Payment Systems, or Enterprise Integration
• Strong experience in SWIFT Messaging Platforms, Java Development, and Payment Systems Integration
• Banking and Financial Services domain experience is mandatory

Key Responsibilities

SWIFT Platform Development & Integration

• Design, develop, and maintain SWIFT integration solutions for domestic and international payment processing.
• Develop and support SWIFT messaging interfaces including:
  • SWIFT MT Messages
  • ISO 20022 MX Messages
  • FIN
  • InterAct
  • FileAct
• Build middleware services, APIs, and message routing solutions.
• Integrate SWIFT infrastructure with enterprise banking and payment applications.

SWIFT Infrastructure Administration

• Configure, administer, and support:
  • SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA)
  • SWIFT Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH)
  • SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG)
  • SWIFTNet
• Manage message queues, routing rules, interfaces, and connectivity.
• Perform SWIFT upgrades, migrations, and patch deployments.
• Monitor production environments and resolve connectivity and messaging issues.

ISO 20022 Migration

• Participate in enterprise ISO 20022 migration initiatives.
• Develop MT-to-MX and MX-to-MT message transformation solutions.
• Validate XML/XSD schemas and ensure SWIFT compliance.
• Support coexistence and migration strategies.

Payment Systems Integration

• Integrate SWIFT with:
  • Fedwire
  • CHIPS
  • RTP
  • ACH
  • SEPA
  • Internal Payment Engines
• Build APIs and services supporting real-time and batch payment processing.
• Ensure payment message delivery, reconciliation, acknowledgment, and exception handling.

Application Development

• Develop enterprise applications using:
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • Python
• Design REST/SOAP APIs and microservices.
• Build automation tools for monitoring, validation, and operational support.
• Develop Shell/Python scripts for administration and automation.

Production Support

• Provide Level-2 and Level-3 support for SWIFT applications.
• Troubleshoot complex payment message processing issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Support disaster recovery and high-availability environments.

Security & Compliance

• Implement SWIFT Customer Security Programme (CSP) controls.
• Ensure secure messaging, encryption, and authentication.
• Support security audits, compliance assessments, and vulnerability remediation.
