Developer III

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Developer III for a contract position in Columbia, SC. The opportunity will be seven months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Work within the EDIG (Electronic Data Interchange Gateway) team
Develop and maintain applications on the host/mainframe environment
Utilise technologies including:
- COBOL
- CICS
- DB2
- IMS
- MQ
- IBM Batch JCL
Collaborate closely with the team lead on task direction and assignments
Interact with Non-Host and Operations teams to support EDIG processes
Support systems that manage healthcare claims data
Participate in on-call support rotation
Assist with file processing, data integration, and system support

Qualifications:

COBOL (Mainframe / Micro Focus)

Preferred:

Experience with HIPAA X12 5010 transactions, such as:
- 837 – Claims transaction
- 835 – Settlement transaction
- 834 – Membership coverage
- 270/271 – Membership validation
- 276/277 – Claims inquiry
File transfer and connectivity tools:
- Host NDM
- FTP
- VPN file transfers
- File transfers with UNIX servers
Healthcare claims systems knowledge
Knowledge of data and file formats for:
- Commercial systems
- EDIG systems
- TRICARE systems
PIMS provider system knowledge
IBM Connect Direct
Documentation and planning:
- Technical requirements
- Business requirements
- Test plans
- Implementation plans
Mainframe technologies:
- CICS
- DB2
- IMS
- MQ
- IBM Batch JCL
- Easytrieve
- Client Code Generator
- Vendor Pricing Software
MS Office
EDz vendor product for Client (non-host)
