The Role

The Frigate Ship Design Manager reports to the Director of Program Engineering and provides broad program technical direction and manages the associated engineering efforts. Significant interaction with program management and customer organizations supporting the Frigate execution is expected. Requires a broad grasp of the Frigate program and ship design issues and related practices and procedures. Advanced level of understanding in a specialized field or general understanding of several diverse disciplines is necessary.Assure technical adequacy, accuracy, and quality of engineering products developed. Manage the workload and assignment of personnel under cognizance. Review and approve all engineering products developed under area of responsibility. Act as an advisor to subordinate supervisors or staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A Master's of Science degree in Engineering and professional registration with 6 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Nice to Have

A MS in Engineering and/or professional registration with 6 years of relevant experience are preferred.
