Position Summary
Provide middleware and software administration support for the Unemployment Insurance Service Improvement (UISIM) project. Responsibilities include managing enterprise middleware, application servers, batch scheduling, performance testing, and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Middleware Administration: Administer, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Red Hat JBoss BAM/BPM, IBM WebSphere 8.5, PSPDF, and OccuCoder.
- Batch Scheduling & Deployments: Support application deployments, integrations, and enterprise workload automation using ActiveBatch.
- Performance Testing: Conduct load testing and performance analysis using JMeter to diagnose and resolve bottlenecks.
- Operations & Monitoring: Monitor middleware availability, capacity, and system alerts; manage incident resolution across environments.
- Documentation & Mentorship: Maintain operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and disaster-recovery plans while mentoring State staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Middleware/App Servers: 60+ months administering enterprise middleware or application-server platforms.
- JBoss / WebSphere: 48+ months installing, configuring, patching, and troubleshooting Red Hat JBoss BAM/BPM or IBM WebSphere.
- Workload Automation: 36+ months administering batch scheduling tools (e.g., ActiveBatch).
- Production Support & Integrations: 36+ months supporting application deployments, interfaces, and production incident resolution.
- Performance Testing: 36+ months performing load/performance testing using JMeter or comparable tools.
- Specialized Tools: 24+ months supporting document-processing/specialized apps like PSPDF or OccuCoder.
- Runbooks & Documentation: 24+ months creating operational documentation, runbooks, and providing knowledge transfer.
Work Details
- Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs/week).
- Interview Process: Webcasting (Camera On).
- Mandatory Requirements: Must sign a confidentiality agreement and complete NYS OER/UI mandatory training.
