Randstad is seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer on behalf of a premier client in the Washington, D.C. area. In this dynamic, hands-on role, you will design, build, and maintain complex, event-driven web applications, taking ownership of both front-end user experiences and robust back-end systems. Acting as a key technical collaborator, you will work closely with Product Owners and Architects to translate customer requirements into scalable solution designs, perform database and data modeling operations, and oversee critical Kafka and AWS cloud infrastructure. responsibilities:
Application Development: Design, build, and optimize complex, high-performance web applications, ensuring top-tier code quality across both the front-end (Angular) and back-end (Java/Spring).
Cloud & Streaming Infrastructure: Perform configuration, administration, and scaling of Apache Kafka messaging platforms, alongside deploying and managing extensive AWS cloud architectures.
Data Engineering: Design, build, and maintain structured data models and write complex data operations across diverse enterprise data sources to guarantee data integrity.
Collaborative Leadership: Act as a technical partner to the team by conducting constructive code reviews, mentoring peers, and driving continuous improvement.
Requirements & Architecture: Partner closely with Product Owners to deconstruct customer requirements and align technical solutions with overall architectural designs in an agile environment.
qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Core Software Expertise: 8+ years of senior-level Java programming experience, including deep proficiency with J2EE, Spring, and REST APIs.
Data Streaming: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and messaging/data-streaming platforms (Kafka administration experience is a highly valued plus).
AWS Cloud Development: Extensive hands-on experience designing and developing with AWS services, including but not limited to: Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, S3, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, EC2, and CloudFormation.
Front-End & UI: Solid development experience utilizing Angular, Node.js, and related modern front-end technologies.
Data & Integration: Strong skills in SQL, database design, data modeling, and delivering complex system integration solutions.
Methodologies & Tools: Expertise in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, utilizing tools like Git, Jenkins, and JIRA in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Communication: Excellent analytical skills paired with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
