Summary

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

Please find the job description below and let me know your interest.

Position: Quality Specialist (for Missiles/Barracuda)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Ana, CA or Costa Mesa, CA

Duration: 6 to 12+ months

Mode of Interview: Video

Job Summary

Business Driver: The site needs a hands-on quality resource embedded in manufacturing. They would own the MRB process and keep nonconforming material moving, so it doesn't hold up production capacity. There is potential for long-term growth and conversion.

Must-haves:

3 7 years of hands-on quality, manufacturing, or test engineering in hardware

o Should come from a fast-paced environment: defense tech, high-rate manufacturing, product development, or SpaceX-type companies

o Traditional, slower-moving space or defense backgrounds have been a weaker fit

o More senior candidates are OK if they fit the pay band and have the right attitude

Electrical/electronics-leaning over mechanical

o Inspects PCBs, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, power supplies, and electromechanical assemblies

o Reads schematics and wire diagrams and can catch workmanship defects at the board and harness level

o Strong GD&T and mechanical inspection is a plus, but either strength works

MRB and non-conformance ownership

o Has run or supported a Material Review Board: logging NCs, containment, quarantine, and tracking through closure

o Comfortable making product disposition calls (use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap, RTV) and defending them with engineering

o Has executed vendor RMAs/RTVs alongside warehouse and procurement

Inspection planning and floor support

o Has written incoming, in-process, and end-of-line inspection plans from drawings and engineering direction

o Has trained inspectors and techs on those plans and on data capture

o Can give go/no-go calls on the floor in real time and review work instructions for clarity and accuracy

Root cause and data

o Has supported RCCA (5 Whys, fishbone, 8D, or similar)

o Can dig into inspection and traceability data to spot trends and variation

o Can report weekly metrics (MRB aging, NC volume, cycle time)

Hands-on with calibrated measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. CMM, Faro arm, and scanners are a plus, not required.

Cross-functional communicator

o Works directly with manufacturing, design, quality, and supply chain engineers, as well as suppliers

o Drives triage to closure on time without heavy oversight

Ownership/startup mindset

o Takes initiative beyond the job description and is comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities

o Open to 1-2 hours of daily overtime
