Quality Engineer (ASQ Certified)

Position Summary: The Quality Engineer 2 is responsible to implement the Quality Management System to ensure delivered product is consistent with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements and government and/or aviation regulations.  The Quality Engineer 2 will provide Quality Engineering support for all Quality aspects of product realization including design controls, inspection plans, assembly process controls, test and delivery. Work collaboratively with functions of the organization. 

Qualifications:

·         Education requirement:  Must have a 4-year Bachelor degree in Quality, Engineering or Technical degree.

·         3+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer or in related position.

·         Certification: ASQ Quality Engineer certification is nice to have.

·         Experience includes maintaining an AS9100/ISO 9001 Quality Management System.  

·         Familiar with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing related documents.

·         Must have the ability to solve simple problems, assess and implement continuous improvement techniques for Quality and Manufacturing functions using Six Sigma methodologies (e.g. Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC) and tools (e.g. ANOVA, SPC, Capability Analysis, DOE, MSA, and FMEA).

·         Use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools

·         Experience in Military Aerospace Industry required and knowledge of IPC and J-STD specifications.

·         Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  

·         Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  

·         Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

Responsibilities:

·         Execute the development, implementation and the continued improvement of the Quality Management System for the assigned product lines.

·         Will work with internal Team Members and outside suppliers and customers. Will participate on and lead cross-functional teams. 

·         Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material and customer returns in a timely manner. Work with supplier quality to put in place inspection plans for receiving inspection and suppliers. Ensure customer requirements are flown-down to suppliers. 

·         Effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to questions from Team Members, Suppliers and Customers

·         Create compliance matrices for customer specifications, quality requirements, and contractual documents

·         Author and tailor quality assurance plans

·         Lead and support customer, internal and thirty party audits as required
