Summary

About Applied Business Software, Inc.,

Applied Business Software, Inc., (ABS), the maker of The Mortgage Office , is the industry leader in private lending and loan management technology. Since 1978, our software has powered thousands of lenders, including private money firms, municipalities, CDFIs, Tribal Nations, universities, franchisors, third-party servicers and other non-bank lenders, helping them streamline, automate, and scale their lending operations with confidence.

About the role

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on building customer-requested functionality, integrations, and data solutions using C#, .NET, and SQL Server. You will receive defined requirements and work closely with internal teams to implement solutions accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

While the role is execution-focused, this is also an opportunity to help establish and mature our Professional Services development function - including contributing to development standards, reusable patterns, documentation, and technical processes as the team grows. It is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on development, clear direction, and the chance to help shape how work is delivered, without people management or product ownership.

What you'll do

Senior Technical Contribution & Execution
  • Act as a senior technical contributor on customer implementation and data conversion projects, delivering work from defined requirements through completion
  • Provide guidance and technical support to other developers as the team grows
  • Contribute to establishing development standards, documentation practices, and reusable technical assets to improve consistency and delivery over time

Data Conversions
  • Design, develop, and optimize data migration pipelines from legacy systems into The Mortgage Office SQL Server database
  • Participate in data mapping and analysis activities to identify schema differences, dependencies, and validation requirements
  • Build and execute ETL processes and validation tools to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity

Custom Development & Integrations
  • Develop customer-requested modules, integrations, and automation tools based on defined requirements
  • Utilize The Mortgage Office API and related technologies to support data exchange between systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify repeatable solutions and improve implementation efficiency

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably within enterprise, ERP, or financial software environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, optimization)
    • C# / .NET Framework and .NET Core
    • ETL scripting and data transformation workflows
    • RESTful API integration and data exchange formats (JSON, XML)
  • Proven experience leading technical projects or implementations for enterprise clients.
  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, or comparable source control and CI/CD platforms.

Why Join Us?
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with company funded match.
  • Mission-driven company with a 45+ year legacy and industry-leading products trusted by thousands of lenders.
  • Collaborative, supportive team known for long tenure, deep expertise, and a culture built on trust and integrity.
  • Help modernize and evolve the leading platform in private lending technology.
  • Beautiful Huntington Beach or San Mateo office with a tight-knit culture.
  • Competitive compensation and room for professional growth.
  • Performance-based bonuses.
  • Generous PTO.
  • Modern workspace with on-site amenities.
  • Awesome company Christmas party.
