Overview/Summary:
Our Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.

As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team counted on to perform a significant portion of Structural analysis and design for our projects. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Structural Lead, Structural Engineers, Structural Designers, and other disciplines. As part of this team, you will help develop design concepts, complete the analysis and design, and work with our Designers to get the structural requirements communicated on design documents and in the model.

It is expected that you have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, knowledge of multiple subject areas, experience with US building codes including seismic provisions, understand how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines, and are building understanding of business trends and industry issues and challenges. You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision
  • Plan and execute work using sound judgment to evaluate and adapt engineering methods, procedures, and criteria
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills; seek guidance when needed
  • Utilize knowledge of lateral design (wind/seismic) and applicable building codes
  • Maintain high attention to detail and quality control; check own work and review others' calculations
  • Manage workload and take full ownership of assigned structural scope to meet schedule, budget, and quality goals
  • Take initiative on ill-defined tasks by defining scope and estimating level of effort
  • Identify and escalate scope changes as needed
  • Collaborate with peers and senior engineers, seeking support when appropriate
  • Deliver work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner
  • Develop leadership skills by providing technical guidance and mentoring junior staff
  • Contribute to improving workflows, systems, and tools; adopt and support new technologies

Primary Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license (PE / PEng)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
  • Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
  • Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
  • Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
  • Experience in semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
  • Experience leading small teams
