About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst with strong experience in unsecured consumer lending to support and enhance consumer credit risk strategies. This role will primarily focus on credit card and personal loan portfolios, using data-driven insights to optimize underwriting strategies, improve portfolio performance, and support sustainable business growth.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with teams across Risk, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to develop and monitor credit risk strategies that effectively balance growth objectives, risk management, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor credit risk strategies for unsecured lending products, with a primary focus on credit card portfolios.
  • Analyze portfolio trends, customer behavior, and risk metrics to identify opportunities for improving approvals, profitability, and loss performance.
  • Design and execute experiments and A/B tests to evaluate new credit policies, thresholds, and treatment strategies.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance tracking for key risk indicators such as delinquency, loss rates, utilization trends, and approval metrics.
  • Partner with Data Science and Modeling teams to translate predictive model outputs into actionable business strategies and policy rules.
  • Utilize SQL and Python to extract, clean, and analyze large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Present analytical insights and strategic recommendations to business and senior leadership stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to risk analytics, reporting, tools, and operational processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Credit Risk Analytics within unsecured consumer lending environments, including:
    • Credit cards (strongly preferred)
    • Personal loans or similar unsecured lending products
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience working on large-scale datasets and complex queries.
  • Proficiency in Python for analytics, automation, and data processing (e.g., pandas, NumPy, visualization libraries).
  • Strong understanding of core credit risk methodologies including scorecards, portfolio segmentation, PD/LGD/EAD, vintage analysis, and risk-based decisioning.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics to solve business problems related to underwriting, line management, pricing strategies, collections, or fraud-risk optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to independently structure and execute analyses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex findings for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within fintech, payments, or digital lending organizations.
  • Familiarity with credit bureau data and alternative data sources.
  • Exposure to experimentation methodologies including A/B testing and champion-challenger frameworks.
  • Understanding of machine learning–based risk models and production deployment concepts.
  • Experience using BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field preferred.

Preferred Attributes

  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and data-driven mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced and evolving business environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and functions.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and execution focus.
