Your future role

The purpose of this position is for creating, updating, and integrating composite related products used on various APM platform vehicles and related maintenance vehicles.

We'll look to you for:
  • Creating and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and Digital Mock-Up (DMU) data for composite components and assemblies.
  • Designing and validating composite parts, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Perform detailed mechanical design activities, including stack-up analysis, clash detection, and interface management.
  • Supporting manufacturing, industrialization, and suppliers throughout development, production ramp-up, and qualification phases.
  • Assessing supplier proposals and costs, contribute to sourcing strategy, and participate in supplier audits and onboarding.
  • Leading and support R&D initiatives to develop innovative composite solutions.
  • Resolving technical issues related to composite parts and provide engineering support to project teams and customers.
  • Managing engineering deliverables, design reviews, change requests, CAD quality, and BOMs while ensuring project milestones and customer requirements are met.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
  • 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Design/Engineering within an industrial environment.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with composite materials, preferably fiberglass composites; broader materials engineering expertise will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design tools (CATIA V5 preferred; SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent accepted).
  • Familiarity with Digital Mock-Up (DMU) environments, 3D integration, and interface management.
  • Experience in rail, automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, implement, and manage engineering change requests.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.

Things you'll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You'll also:
  • Work with innovative 3D/2D CAD tools such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Catia V5 to design and integrate mechanical and electro/mechanical products for APM platform vehicles,
  • Progress towards becoming a key contributor to cutting-edge transportation solutions while continuously improving your technical and leadership skills,
  • Utilise our collaborative and structured working environment that fosters resilience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset,
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries,
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, 401k).

You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you'll be proud. If you're up for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
