Job DescriptionSenior Software Architect - Integration (Bedford, MA)We are seeking a Software Architect to provide architectural ownership and functional leadership within Clinical Imaging Software. As part of the Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) team, you will establish and shape the integration of software solutions across multiple existing imaging platforms while enabling teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and innovative medical software products.
Your role: - Architectural Leadership:
- Own and evolve the end-to-end software architecture for assigned products or platforms, balancing short-term delivery with long-term technical vision.
- Define architectural principles, guardrails, and technology roadmaps, including non-functional requirements such as performance, security, safety, and scalability.
- Review and challenge architectural proposals to ensure alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Functional & Technical Leadership:
- Provide functional leadership for a focused team of software engineers, test engineers, requirements engineers and other members of the software team through coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, built-in quality, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to talent identification, development, and succession planning for technical roles.
- Software Delivery & Quality:
- Enable teams to deliver high-quality software through clear architectural guidance and alignment with Agile / SAFe practices.
- Ensure compliance with medical device regulations (FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and strong design control practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with existing software leadership and resources, product management, quality, regulatory, clinical, and service stakeholders to align technical solutions with customer and business needs.
You're the right fit if: - You have 8+ years of experience in software architecture and software engineering for complex, software-intensive systems. Experience working on medical devices with an emphasis on software is desired.
- You have earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- You show a proven ability to lead and influence senior technical professionals in a regulated environment.
- You bring strong communication skills and the ability to bridge business strategy and technical execution.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
How we work together:We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.
This is an office-based role with the expectation of 5 days a week in the Bedford, MA office.

Philips Transparency Details: The pay range for this position in MA is $157,000 - $249,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
