A financial services organization is seeking a Network Security Engineer for a fully remote opportunity.

Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including configurations, upgrades, patches, and ongoing support
- Develop, maintain, and optimize firewall security policies and rules
- Convert Layer 4 firewall rules to Layer 7 application-aware rules using Palo Alto User-ID and App-ID
- Troubleshoot firewall, network, and connectivity issues to support security, performance, and reliability
- Support network security infrastructure and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure connectivity solutions
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Strong understanding of Layer 4 and Layer 7 firewall security
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto User-ID and App-ID
- Experience creating and managing custom App-ID configurations
- Experience managing Palo Alto infrastructure, including upgrades, patches, and configurations
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, devices, and infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, routers, VPNs, and network monitoring tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Desired Skills:
- Experience managing Check Point firewalls in an IaaS environment
- Experience deploying Palo Alto firewalls in an IaaS environment
- Experience working with cloud/IaaS network security infrastructure
- Experience using Python scripting to automate network administration or firewall tasks
- Experience with network automation and configuration management tools
